Genetic map of the powdery mildew resistance gene in soybean William using SSR markers

Powdery mildew (caused by Microphaera diffusa Cook & Peck) is one of the most serious diseases affected to quality and quantity of soybean. Powdery mildew and soybean rust can reduce to 35% of yield inUSA and Canada. In some previous studies, results showed that powdery mildew was governed by singledominate gene Rmd at chromosome 16 (group J). Genetic linkage powdery mildew map was establishedsuccessfully with 10 SSRs in total 13 SSRs assessed. 102 F2 progenies and their families derived from a crossbetween resistant cultivar William 82 and powdery mildew susceptible cultivar ĐT26 was assessed to revealsegregation in progeny population. ĐT26 is a hybrid line, which has high yield and well adapts to climaticconditions in Vietnam. 10 SSRs was indentified in flanking of Rmd_W gene with two tightly linked markers(Sat_431 and BARCSOYSSR_16_1236) in map with distance of 6.5 và 8.0 cM. Sat_431 andBARCSOYSSR_16_1236 can use as MAS (marker assisted selection) for selected and created powdery mwresistant soybean.
